I LOVED Divine Rivals, too! And, I connect to your interest in creativity and Christianity. I also get so much from the Enneagram. Thanks for your list!

I don’t recognize a lot of these, but your commentary is very insightful!

Man, I hated Songbirds and Snakes too. The rare prequel so awful that it makes you wonder if the original was a random accident. The literary equivalent of The Phantom Menace.

Okay but what if I like The Phantom Menace? :D

I mean, my 10yo autistic daughter who swears the prequels are the only good Star Wars movies will agree with you

I love the end of the year posts! Not every book is for every reader, but I rely on recommendations from friends with good taste/similar taste to mine, and trying something I wouldn’t have heard of otherwise can be a new favorite or figuring out that a genre or author just isn’t for me. Podcasts have helped me branch out a little bit. I read Dracula last year, which I wouldn’t have given a chance unless people I trusted said it was worth it.

May I ask what you thought of Songbirds that made you stop reading it?

Not saying I liked it, just curious why you didn't.
